- Welcome to my blog - where I can share my personal life and my photography! I am married to the most wonderful man and I have an amazing little boy who lights up my every moment. I have always loved taking pictures but over the past few years it has really become a more serious passion. I think one of the most fun things about taking someone's picture is being able to CAPTURE that particular moment in time so that it can be held onto forever! I prefer natural light, on location photography that allows people to just be themselves. If you are interested in contacting me regarding photography please send me an email to holly@simplycapturedphotographybyhollybenfield.com Oh yeah, and I'd love to hear what you think ... so feel free to leave comments at the end of my blog posts. God Bless!!

A 5th Birthday Boy
This little cutie just turned 5 and so we met for our annual photo session ... which I always look forward to! I've had the pleasure of photographing him since he was just a few days new so it is always special to spend some time with this sweet family and to see how much the kiddos have grown and changed. This little guy has definitely grown since I last saw him in the fall. We met up on some private property and it was fun to explore a new place ... especially this new place that had so many great portrait spots. I think a great background for family portraits is often times overlooked but it really helps to choose a location that is versatile, has great light, and is inspiring. This place definitely checked all of the boxes!

Making The Most of It
Schools across the country were closed due to corona virus ... no award ceremonies, no graduation, and no prom. You go to school for 13 years with this image in your head of the perfect senior year ... of all those final moments that make being a senior so special, so exciting ... and then it all comes to a crashing halt when school as you know it is cancelled. I think that for most, prom is one of those main events that most seniors look forward to and its unfortunate that so many didn't get to experience that this year. My niece, Kenley, was a senior at North Gaston this past year and was among those who were robbed of all those wonderful senior experiences. She already had the perfect prom dress so she decided to make the most of it and get all dressed up for a prom photo session and dinner with her boyfriend. Kenley looked absolutely gorgeous, and I was so happy to be able to capture her senior "prom" :)

Little "G" is Turning ONE!!
I first met this sweet family to capture their daughter's first birthday ... This past weekend I had the pleasure of capturing their precious little boy for his first birthday portraits. It reminded me that I have my own little man who will be one before I know it! This little guy is so super cute ... loved smiling for his Daddy ... and was just really about perfect for his whole session. And once that cake came out ... well, he didn't hesitate one little bit. He had green icing in places we weren't really sure how to explain :)
Thank you guys very much for trusting me to document this special time in your life! I enjoyed our time together and hope you love this sneak peek!!
